ABOUT

I am a Foundation Director for St Catherine of Siena (SCOS) MAC and a link director on the Our Lady & St. Hubert's Primary School Local Governing Body. My experience and qualifications include: 

- Cardiff University graduate with a 2:1 BSc (Econ) in History and Politics.

- ACII qualified - Degree level qualification in insurance and risk management via the Chartered Insurance Institute

- GDL – Graduate Diploma in Law (Law degree from the University of Law Birmingham).

- PGCE - University of Worcester

Knowledge and Skills/Area of Expertise:

I have extensive experience in education in a variety of posts which has allowed me to extend my knowledge and skills in the areas of Management, Leadership, Administration, Safeguarding and Health and Safety.

Currently completing ‘The Governance Leadership Programme’ provided by the Ambition School Institute. This is to help ensure we have the best structures and skills in place to support our current schools, and also develop and grow St Catherine of Siena MAC.

In addition to school governance:

Several years’ experience in Insurance and risk management.

 

Specialist experience of senior-level recruitment. Appointments included Managing Directors, Sales Directors and Finance Directors for the general insurance industry.

 

Part-time secondary school teacher for the last 8 years. During this period, also Humanities Lead Practitioner responsible for data across KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Dr. Danny Doyle is Senior Executive Principal of the Saint Catherine of Siena Academy, Head at Our Lady and St. Hubert’s primary school and Director of the SHAPE Teaching School Alliance in Sandwell. 

Danny is also a doctor of research for the University of Birmingham. His PhD thesis focussed on impact of academic frameworks and the National Curriculum on children’s development – especially boys, language development and writing attainment.

Caroline Caddick is the company Finance and Operations Manager. Caroline has a long service corporate background working in HR and account management. 

Stuart Green works across all MAC schools coordinating and supporting their ICT infrastructure, as well as supporting with curriculum development and procurement. 

 

Sarah is the qualified Senior Accountant who is currently responsible for budget monitoring, reporting and analysis across the MAC. 

Katie is a qualified School Business Manager and experienced leader in school administration. Katie oversees all school offices, office managers and schools' office processes and procedures.

Governor Experience:

I am a Foundation Director for the Catherine of Siena MAC and Vice-Chair. I chair the Strategy and Vision Committee and am a member of the Provisions and Outcomes committees. As part of the Pay Progression Committee I collaborate with the Finance and Audit committee. I am the elected director for Performance Management. I am also a Governor at Rose of Lima Primary School in Birmingham.

In addition to the above I have the following experience:

Twenty-six years as a Headteacher Governor in two schools.

Two years as a seconded Headteacher Governor in one school.

Six years as a Foundation Governor in one school

Four years as a Foundation Director in one school.

My background is in Education, particularly Early Years and Primary:

Head of St Gregory’s School, Sandwell, Head of St Patrick’s School, Birmingham, Consultant Head at St Philip’s School, Sandwell.

These skills enable me to help set strategies to ensure the objectives of St Catherine of Siena MAC are fulfilled and that each school within the academy will operate successfully.

I am retired after thirty-eight years in Primary Education.

Carol Ann Cullen – Foundation Director

Governance Experience

Appointed as Foundation Director for St Catherine of Siena Multi Academy Company in June 2016. I sit on the Board’s Audit and Finance Committee. I have been a Governor at St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School for 5 years and I am currently the Vice Chair of the Governing body. I also sit on the provisions committee as the Chair.
